Detailed Itinerary
The Grand Tour of the Andes
06:00 AM: Early Bird Departure
We start early to maximize your day. Your private driver collects you from your Cusco hotel. As we ascend out of the city, watch the sunrise illuminate the snow-capped peaks of the Vilcanota range.
Morning: Weavers & Agricultural Labs
Chinchero: Our first stop is this picturesque town known for its colonial church built atop Inca ruins. Here, you'll witness a private weaving demonstration, learning how local women create vibrant textiles using ancient techniques and natural dyes. Moray: Next, we visit the enigmatic circular terraces of Moray. Your guide will explain how this site likely served as an agricultural research station for the Incas to acclimatize crops.
Mid-Morning: The Salt Pans of Maras
A short drive takes us to the Maras Salt Mines. Capture stunning photos of the thousands of salt pools terracing down the canyon side—a pre-Inca tradition still maintained by local families today.
Mid-Day: Gastronomy in Urubamba
We break for a well-deserved lunch in the heart of the valley. Enjoy a premium buffet lunch featuring fresh local ingredients (quinoa, corn, trout) in a beautiful garden setting in Urubamba. (À la carte upgrade available).
Afternoon: The Fortress & The Citadel
Ollantaytambo: Explore the massive fortress that guards the valley entrance. Climb the terraces to the Temple of the Sun and wander the cobblestone streets of the only "living Inca city." Pisac: We finish the day at the sprawling ruins of Pisac, perched high above the valley floor. Explore the vast cemetery and agricultural terraces, then (time permitting) visit the famous artisan market in the town below.
19:00 PM: Return to Cusco
After a day full of discovery, relax in the comfort of your private vehicle as we drive you back to your hotel in Cusco.

What to bring
Recommendations
- Acclimatization: This is a long day with varying altitudes (from 2,800m to 3,800m). It is best done on your second or third day in Cusco after you've adjusted to the thin air.
- The Tourist Ticket (BTC): You absolutely need the Cusco Tourist Ticket. If you are doing this tour, the Full Ticket (10 days) is often the best value as it covers almost everything.
- Footwear Matters: You will be walking on uneven stone, dirt paths, and climbing stairs at multiple sites. Wear sturdy, comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers.
- Hydration & Snacks: Bring water and small snacks (nuts, energy bars). While lunch is included, it's a long day and you might get hungry between stops.

Frequently asked questions
Clearing Your Doubts
Q: Is this tour too tiring for children or seniors?
A: It is an active day ("Medium" difficulty) because we visit five different sites. However, since it is private, we can adjust the walking. We can drive closer to viewpoints, skip the steep climb at Ollantaytambo, or spend more time at the market if you prefer a slower pace.
Q: Can I start the tour later than 6:00 AM?
A: Yes, but we strongly recommend 6:00-7:00 AM to ensure you have enough daylight to see all five sites properly without rushing. If you start later, we may need to shorten visits or skip a site.
Q: Does this tour end in Ollantaytambo?
A: Yes, we can drop you off in Ollantaytambo after the tour (around 3:30-4:00 PM) if you have a train to catch to Machu Picchu. We would then visit the sites in a different order (Pisac -> Chinchero -> Moray -> Maras -> Ollantaytambo) to end there. Just let us know!
Q: What is the difference between this and the "Classic" tour?
A: The Classic Tour visits 3 sites (Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero) and is more relaxed. This VIP Tour adds Moray and Maras, making it perfect for those who want to see everything in one day but requires a faster pace.
