- What to Bring: Warm clothing (layers are essential, as temperatures drop significantly at night), sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), comfortable walking shoes.
- Cash: The lodge does not accept credit cards. Bring cash (Peruvian Soles) for any extra expenses.
- Dietary Restrictions (CRITICAL): As noted, the lodge cannot accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free (Celiac), or severe allergy restrictions due to the remote location and traditional cooking methods.

Preguntas frecuentes
FAQs
Q: How cold does it get at night on the lake?
A: Nights on the Altiplano are cold year-round, often dropping near freezing. While the lodges provide plenty of warm blankets, it is essential to bring warm pajamas, thick socks, and jackets for the evening and early morning.
Q: What are the facilities like at the lodge?
A: The lodges offer a comfortable, authentic experience but are rustic by design. Rooms are private, but electricity may be limited (often solar-powered), and Wi-Fi is usually unavailable. Bathrooms are ecological (dry toilets). It’s an opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the environment.
Q: I have dietary restrictions. Can they accommodate me?
A: Unfortunately, due to the remote nature and reliance on traditional local ingredients, the communities and lodges cannot guarantee meals free from specific allergens, nor can they accommodate vegan or gluten-free diets. Meals are typically hearty Andean staples.
Q: Is the hiking on Taquile difficult?
A: The hike on Taquile involves a gradual ascent on stone pathways. While not technically difficult, the high altitude makes it feel more strenuous. We take it slow, allowing plenty of time to rest.
